Trillium chloropetalum var. giganteum

In Flowers, Gardens, Plants, Spring Gardens, Staffordshire

The Trillium chloropetalum var. giganteum, or giant wake-robin as it is also known, has recently been planted out in our camellia walk.

Trillium are rhizomatous, herbaceous perennials, with mottled leaves and large deep red flowers. They thrive best in  dappled semi-shade and generally are best undisturbed.20170421_125259

Cameilla walk is situated at the lower part of the garden (15 on the garden map) just north of the Royal Botanic Glasshouse.

The garden is currently awash with Spring blossom and vibrant colour, particularly in the Quarry garden.

The Dorothy Clive Garden is open 7 days a week from 10am to 5.30pm until 30th September. As well as a delightful tearoom and giftroom, we have a range of family events and adult educational workshops that take place throughout the year.
