Sunday Lecture- Autumn into Winter and Early Spring

This presentation covers from September until late March the following spring looking at a wide range of plants that provide colour in many different forms from foliage to berries, bulbs through herbaceous to Alpines and Shrubs. Many of the images are from John Massey’s garden at Ashwood Nurseries. Plants are captioned for easy identification, and the presentation concludes with a musical magical tour through six months in just 4 minutes!
Howard Drury is a Horticultural Broadcaster, Speaker, Lecturer, Writer, Adviser, and Consultant who will be presenting a fascinating talk on garden-worthy plants with striking leaf colour, focusing on species that are not simply mixed variegation with green foliage. This lecture is specially aimed at keen, plant-focused groups and promises to inspire both seasoned gardeners and enthusiasts alike.
Drawing on decades of horticultural experience—from training at Edinburgh Botanic Garden and presenting on Central TV’s Gardening Time, to running gardening clubs, writing, and leading gardening holidays worldwide—Howard uses the latest projection and audio technology to make his talks immersive, memorable, and educational.
Join us for this engaging session as part of the Dorothy Clive Garden Sunday Lecture series and explore the beauty and diversity of leaf colour in the garden.
