Are Dogs allowed in the Garden?

We allow Dogs in the Garden on short leads. Dogs are not allowed inside the Tearoom (except for Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs). We have our Olive Barn specifically for the use of Dogs owners.

Is the Garden owned by the National Trust?

No, the Garden is not owned by the National Trust. We are an independent charity.

Can you use the Tearoom without paying to come into the Garden?

Our Tearoom is situated within the grounds of the Garden, and due to the way the Trust is set up you cannot use the Tearoom without paying for entry to the Garden.

When is the Laburnum Arch in bloom?

The Laburnum Arch is normally in bloom at the end of May early June. However, weather conditions can affect blooming times. Keep an eye on our Faceboook / Tiktok and web for more details.

When is the best time to see the Rhododendrons and Azaleas?

The peak time for Rhododendrons is the middle of May (the season runs from April to mid June). For Azaleas the end of May.

Do you do Group Visits?

We are open for groups from 10.00am until 5.00pm 7 days a week from 1st March to the 31st October (please note during March and October our opening times are 10am to 4pm).

During our low season from 1st November through to the end of February we are open 10.00am to 4.00pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday only.

During Spring and Summer months evening visits can be made by special arrangement.

Can I purchase a Gift Voucher?

We offer Gift Vouchers in multiples of £10. Gift Vouchers can be used to pay for entry, food purchases in the Tearoom, in the Gift Room and to purchase Membership. You can purchase Gift Vouchers in our Gift Room or by emailing info@dorothyclivegarden.co.uk.

When can I use my Gardeners World 2-4-1 voucher?

We accept the Gardeners World 2-4-1 vouchers from 1st July to 31st October everyday of the week (excluding special events and group bookings).

Do you have disabled parking?
We have designated disabled parking spaces on our top car park.
Do you have wheelchairs?

We have a number manual wheelchairs available (please ask at the Tearoom).

Do you have a Mobility Scooter?

We have a mobility scooter available (subject to availability) Please note: we require 48 hours notice if you wish to use the Mobility Scooter. If you wish to reserve the scooter please call 01630 647237.

Is the Garden suitable for Wheelchair users?

The Garden is a hillside Garden, some of the pathways are gravelled and some have tree roots showing. We have a specific accessibility route map available at the gate, Tearoom and Gift Room.

Is the Garden open all year round?

The Garden is open everyday from 1st March to 31st October (opening times may vary). During our low season (1st November to the end of February) the Garden is open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday only (opening times may vary).

What time does the Tearoom open?

Our Tearoom opens at 10am.

What time does the Gift Room open?

Our Gift Room opens at 11am.

Do you cater for specific dietary needs?

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, dairy free and coeliac (please note we use nut products in our kitchen).

What time is lunch service?

Lunch is served from 12.00pm to 2.30pm.

Do you offer school trips or educational groups?

Yes we do, our dedicated Education Officer can fully personalise your visit to ensure all of your topic goals are achieved, but also that all learners have a fantastic day in the garden. Feel free to get in touch via our education page on our website for more information.

Are picnics allowed?

Yes – but not in the vicinity of the tearoom. Please use the benches in the paddocks.
